What is deliverability?

The deliverability of your email message depends on a number of factors:

  • The reputation of the sender’s IP address
  • The quality of the database
  • The design, structure and content of the message
  • The relevancy and frequency of the messages received

Remember that reputation rests on a score given to the sender’s IP address, which is calculated according to bounce rates (keep these below 10%), the number of spam trap addresses (i.e. the address-traps set up to detect spammers, which should never appear on a legitimate mailing list) and the rate of user complaints (which should stay at less than 0.3% to 0.4%).
